Sustane Technologies Announces Major Project Milestones at Chester Facility and Welcomes Marc Donaldson as Project Director

Chester, Nova Scotia, February 11, 2026 — Sustane Technologies today announced a series of significant project milestones at its Chester advanced recycling facility, marking continued progress toward expanded plastics recycling capacity and operational scale. The company also confirmed the addition of Marc Donaldson to the team as Project Director, strengthening execution leadership as Sustane enters a critical delivery and start-up phase.

Pyrovac Pyrolysis Reactor Delivered

A major execution milestone was achieved in late 2025 with the successful delivery of the Quebec-based Pyrovac’s Pyrolysis Reactor (PR) to Sustane’s Chester facility.

The Pyrovac PR Line 1 system forms the backbone of Sustane’s advanced plastics recycling process. With fabrication complete and the equipment now on site, a critical value-creating asset has moved from plan to reality.

Civil and Concrete Works

Civil and concrete works have been underway since late 2025, laying the foundation for Sustane’s next phase of growth. These infrastructure upgrades support a phased increase in on-site capacity, including higher plastic intake, improved material handling, and safer storage, while maintaining flexibility for future expansion.

Start-Up Phase

This week, the project transitions into re-assembly and start-up. This phase integrates equipment installation, civil works and control systems into a fully operational Pyrolysis Reactor Line 1, culminating in commissioning and performance validation. These upgrades will lead to a more than doubling of the capacity of the plant up to a capacity of 14 tonnes per day of end-of-life waste plastics.

To support these milestones and Sustane’s broader growth strategy, the company has appointed Marc Donaldson as Project Director. Marc brings more than 20 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure and energy projects across power generation, renewables, energy storage, gas processing, and large-scale industrial systems. He is the Founder of Martech Energy and has led projects for organizations including Emera, Brookfield Infrastructure, Enbridge, Encana, and BP Canada.

“Marc’s experience in de-risking projects across the full lifecycle and aligning execution with strategic objectives strengthens our ability to deliver safely, predictably, and at scale,” said Peter Vinall, CEO, Sustane. “His leadership comes at a pivotal time as we move from construction into start-up.”
